Forward Anna Henderson signed with Fort Lauderdale United FC for the highly anticipated inaugural USL Super League season this August.
Henderson had an exceptional career with the UCF Knights. During her junior year in 2021, she clocked 695 minutes in 11 matches with nine starts, showcasing her determination and endurance. Henderson provided a defense backbone, while also being a powerful playmaker offensively, earning her five assists to tie for the team lead. Henderson is also a reliable and adaptable player who can perform in high-pressure moments, which she showcased by playing a season-high of 103 minutes at SMU.
Continuing to elevate into her senior year in 2022, Henderson became an instrumental part of the field, making 18 appearances and starting in eight matches for 887 minutes. Not only did she record 18 shots, but she also scored her first career goal on a season-high of 73 minutes. Henderson’s scoring ability combined with her gift for rising to the occasion netted her second goal of the season in the distinguished AAC Conference Tournament semi-final versus Memphis.
Henderson’s journey to the 954 also includes experience playing professional soccer for the Mallbackens IF in Sweden and Club Santos Femenil in Mexico, adding another dimension to her already impressive career. Henderson’s diverse background and proven ability to perform make her a key player in Fort Lauderdale United FC’s goal of assembling a top-notch roster for the first women’s professional team in South Florida.
