Fort Lauderdale’s very own Reese Klein has just signed with her hometown’s newest and only women’s professional soccer team, Fort Lauderdale United FC.
The 17-year-old from NSU University School has had an impressive start to her blossoming career.
Regionally ranked #3 in 2025 Florida girls players, Klein has built a presence as a defensive powerhouse both locally and nationally.
While developing at Florida United, Klein was selected to the U.S. U16 Women’s Youth National Team in 2022. In her debut match in the UEFA Development Tournament in England, she immediately created a scoring opportunity for her team with a perfectly executed pass over the top of the Norwegian defense. Klein also scored in the 90th minute off a corner kick, showcasing her ability to read the game and find the back of the net with ease.
In 2023, Klein was also picked among the elite 18 players chosen to compete for the U.S. U19 Women’s Youth National Team in the Pan American Games, a continental multi-sport event in the Americas featuring Olympic summer sports. Klein was an integral part of this team making its first appearance in this event since 2007.
Klein continued to excel as a standout player for the Women’s Youth National Team, earning selections for multiple training camps and international matches. Her time spent representing the U.S. led her to committing to play for Clemson University in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I soccer.
Klein will bring her energy and passion for the 954 to the field for Fort Lauderdale United FC this upcoming fall. Her addition will not only enhance our defensive line but also inspire young female athletes in our community.
