Switching from the desert to the sandy beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Gianna Gourley signed with Fort Lauderdale United FC as a forward for the inaugural 2024 USL Super League.
The Las Vegas native first made her mark at Iowa State University, becoming named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team, Iowa’s first honoree since 2016. She scored five goals in just her freshman season, the fourth-most on the team.
Gourley took her talents to Grand Canyon University, where she blossomed into a top goal-scorer for this team. She earned First Team All-WAC honors in just her first season with GCU.
“GMONEY,” the license plate on Gourley’s car, perfectly describes how rich her career is in terms of the goals she has scored. During her junior year, she had the best offensive season in GCU history by scoring 18 goals with six assists. She had five games where she scored multiple goals and five game-winning goals, a record on her team. Her success accoladed her to the All-WAC First Team.
Totaling 42 points and 18 goals as a junior, Gourley is among the top five in the nation. Her gift for finding the back of the net will make her a great asset to Fort Lauderdale United FC’s offense this year.
