FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After a dominant showing in the first month of the second half of the season, Fort Lauderdale United FC forward Jasmine Hamid has been named the USL Super League Player of the Month for February. Hamid netted a pair of unreal, screaming goals in the club’s two February matches as she helped push Fort Lauderdale to another unbeaten month (1W, 1D). Hamid was the first FTL UTD player to win Player of the Month (December), and is now the league’s first player to win the award in back-to-back months.
The reigning Player of the Month was electric on the left wing, contributing a pair of goals on 3 shots on target, while also recording 10 duels won, 3 chances created and 7 completed tackles. The Towson product was dominant in her two matches in February, scoring a screaming, top-corner goal in the far post against Tampa Bay Sun FC and a right-footed blast into the near post against Lexington SC to help secure four points for Fort Lauderdale.
The dynamic Hamid has been on fire since December 1, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists in the five matches during that time-frame. Hamid was crucial in Fort Lauderdale finishing unbeaten for the second month in a row, and will look to keep her league-best strong run of play going into the playoff push.
